Pat called in to share a medical intervention
I just wanted to relate something that happened to me when I was a young woman. I had four children under five years of age, a set of twins and two other babies. I thought it was time for me to get a pap smear., but my husband, we only had one car, we were not very wealthy, we were quite without things economically. So I got this appointment with this Doctor, but it was way over on the other side of town and I got this lady to watch my babies so I could go in the evening after my husband got off from work. So we went to the Doctor. When we walked into this office where I had never been before it was full of pregnant ladies. There wasnt even a place for me to sit.
So, well I thought I better get back because its going to be very, very late, and I only had this babysitter for a short period of time. I only had so much money. So I decided well do this another time. So I put my hand on the door-knob to leave the office and something, a voice in my head, I heard it and I thought it was my Husband. It said, Do not leave this office without being seen. And thats all it said. I looked around to see if I could see if anyone else was around me. No one else was around me. Everyone was sitting there reading their magazines. So I thought well, maybe I better listen to this. I was a very reticent type of a person at times but I did stand in the middle of the floor and I asked all the ladies if they would mind if I went ahead of them, I just needed a pap smear and I had people watching my babies and I had to be back to them soon. So they let me go ahead and three days later my pap smear came back as cancer cells.
